The Weeknd Leads Record-Breaking Monthly Boxscore Report

The Weeknd has reached a new peak in his touring career. After spending much of the past four years near the top of the monthly live-music rankings, the Canadian superstar captured the No. 1 position on the monthly touring report for the first time. His performance in July was not just a personal milestone; it helped drive the biggest calendar month the touring industry has ever recorded by reported grosses.

Key facts at a glance

  • The Weeknd's July gross: $124.4 million from 16 shows.
  • Tickets sold: 892,000, the second-highest monthly total ever recorded.
  • Top Paris stand: $44.2 million and 300,000 tickets at Stade de France.
  • BTS: $102.5 million and 582,000 tickets across four July shows.
  • Chris Brown & Usher: $98.4 million and 538,000 tickets in July.
  • Top 30 tours combined: $1.155 billion and 8.189 million tickets.

A Historic Month for The Weeknd

According to industry-reported boxscore figures, The Weeknd grossed $124.4 million and sold 892,000 tickets across 16 shows in July. That represents his largest monthly gross ever, edging out Bad Bunny's $123.7 million from September 2022 by less than 1%. It also stands as the biggest one-month gross by a solo male artist since the monthly chart's launch in 2019, and the seventh-biggest month by any act.

The attendance numbers are even more impressive in historical context. The Weeknd's 892,000 tickets sold is the second-highest one-month attendance figure ever recorded, narrowly surpassing his own 891,000 from July 2023. Harry Styles remains the all-time leader with 967,000 tickets sold in June 2023. The fact that The Weeknd has now delivered two of the three biggest monthly attendance totals in chart history underscores the scale of his international appeal.

This marks The Weeknd's 15th appearance on the monthly touring chart, all since the start of his After Hours til Dawn Tour in 2022. It is his 13th time in the top 10, his ninth in the top five, and his seventh in the top three. Yet July was the first time he reached No. 1, an achievement that felt overdue given how consistently he has dominated the rankings since the tour began.

European Stadium Dominance

Both of The Weeknd's 800,000-plus ticket months were spent entirely in European stadiums. The same applies to Harry Styles' record-setting June 2023 run, as well as three other months among the six biggest attendance totals in chart history. European venues generally offer larger capacities than their American counterparts, which helps explain why so many record months are built around overseas stadium swings. The Weeknd averaged more than 55,000 tickets per show during July, a figure that would be difficult to match in a domestic arena or amphitheater run.

Interestingly, the six biggest months by revenue all included shows in North America, where premium pricing and dynamic ticketing tend to drive higher per-ticket yields. The Weeknd's July was no exception in terms of overall scale, but it leaned on volume and capacity in Europe to generate its historic gross.

Paris Stands Out

The crown jewel of The Weeknd's July was a four-show stand at Paris' Stade de France on July 8-9 and 11-12. Those concerts produced $44.2 million from 300,000 tickets sold, making them the month's highest-grossing and best-selling concert engagement. The run also extended the stadium's relationship with the After Hours til Dawn Tour. Combined with two shows at the same venue on July 29-30, 2023, The Weeknd has now sold out Stade de France six times, generating more than $60 million and 450,000 tickets in the process.

Beyond Paris, The Weeknd played multiple nights in Lille, Nice, Amsterdam, Milan, and Frankfurt. All six European stops landed on the monthly concert rankings, bookending his Paris shows at No. 1 with two nights at Nice's Allianz Riviera on July 21-22 at No. 30.

Career Numbers and Legacy

The After Hours til Dawn Tour launched in 2022 and has grown into one of the biggest touring enterprises in music history. Through Aug. 1, the trek had played 141 shows and grossed $910.1 million, selling 7.1 million tickets. That makes it the fourth-highest-grossing tour of all time, trailing only Taylor Swift, Coldplay, and Elton John. According to the artist's team, a dozen additional shows that have already taken place plus nearly two dozen more on the calendar will push the tour past the $1 billion mark, making it only the third tour ever to reach that threshold.

The run has also set genre and cultural milestones. It is the biggest tour by an R&B artist and the biggest tour by a Black artist in boxscore history. The Weeknd is the first R&B artist to top the monthly charts in 2026 and only the third to do so in the chart's seven-year history. He follows Beyoncé, who reached No. 1 seven times between 2023 and 2025, and Chris Brown, who mounted a three-peat last year.

The Weeknd's Chart Path

The Weeknd's route to No. 1 reflects both longevity and consistency. He first appeared on the monthly touring chart in 2022, shortly after the After Hours til Dawn Tour began. Over the next four years, he rarely left the upper echelon, bouncing between the top 10, top five, and top three. July's full-strength schedule, with 16 shows in major European stadiums, finally gave him the combination of volume and revenue needed to take the crown.

His ability to sustain this level of demand more than four years into a stadium tour is rare. Many artists see arena and stadium business decline as a tour ages, but The Weeknd has continued to add dates and break records. His July gross was higher than any previous month of the tour, proving that the After Hours til Dawn brand has not lost momentum.

BTS and The R&B Tour Add to a Stacked Month

While The Weeknd made history at No. 1, two other tours helped make the month unforgettable. BTS landed at No. 2 with $102.5 million and 582,000 tickets sold across four July stops in Brussels, London, Munich, and Paris. The Paris shows were the biggest, contributing $30.6 million from 185,000 tickets. BTS had previously topped the chart in April and May this year, and after a lighter June schedule, the group returned near the top with a fuller run.

By surpassing $100 million in July, BTS became only the third act ever to achieve that milestone in multiple months, joining Beyoncé and Bad Bunny. It was also the second time in history that two tours grossed more than $100 million in the same month; the first was in May 2025, when Beyoncé and the co-headline pairing of Kendrick Lamar and SZA both exceeded $150 million. July 2026 now belongs to that elite club as well.

BTS' Arirang World Tour, which began in April, has already earned $433.2 million and sold 2.3 million tickets over 38 shows through Aug. 11. It is by far the biggest tour of the group's career and is scheduled to continue through March 2027.

Sandwiched between these two juggernauts was the co-headline R&B Tour featuring Chris Brown and Usher. It finished at No. 3 with $98.4 million and 538,000 tickets sold in July. Including the tour's opening shows in June and an Aug. 1 performance in Syracuse, New York, the trek has earned $115.9 million in its first 16 shows, with more than 40 shows still to report.

Record-Breaking Industry Month

The combined power of these three tours pushed the entire industry to new heights. The month's top 30 tours grossed a reported $1.155 billion and sold 8.189 million tickets, setting all-time highs since the monthly chart began in 2019. More broadly, it was the highest-grossing calendar month in the history of the touring industry by reported figures. Even accounting for unreported results from Taylor Swift's massive Eras Tour, no month from 2023-24 is believed to have come close.

The previous monthly record was set in June 2025, when the top 30 tours grossed $1.029 billion and sold 7.534 million tickets. July 2026 surpassed those totals by 12% and 9%, respectively, demonstrating that the ongoing boom in live music continues to accelerate. With multiple blockbuster tours still on the road and more stadium productions on the horizon, the record may not stand for long.

The Weeknd's first No. 1 month, BTS' continued dominance, and the rise of a new R&B co-headline powerhouse all point to a touring landscape where the biggest artists are achieving unprecedented scale. The numbers from July are not just a snapshot of one month; they are evidence that the upper tier of live music has never been stronger.
