Puducherry police have decided to question Tollywood actresses Tamannaah and Kajal Aggarwal in connection with a cryptocurrency scam where Rs. 3.4 crores was swindled from 11 victims. The scam involved promises of high profits and was carried out by a cryptocurrency company in 2022. The investigation continues, with two suspects arrested.
New Delhi: In connection with the cryptocurrency scam that took place in Puducherry, the Puducherry police have decided to question Tollywood actresses Tamannaah and Kajal Aggarwal. A retired government employee from Puducherry named Ashokan filed a complaint with the police, alleging that a total of Rs. 3.40 crores was swindled from 11 people by promising high profits under the guise of cryptocurrency. A cryptocurrency company was launched in 2022 with its headquarters in Coimbatore, and actress Tamannaah along with other celebrities participated in the event.
Police Investigation for Tollywood Heroines?
Later, actress Kajal Aggarwal attended an event organized by the company at a star hotel in Mahabalipuram. After that, a party was held on a cruise ship in Mumbai, where more celebrities were invited. A massive party was organized to attract the public to invest. Subsequently, the company collected Rs. 3.4 crores from people in Puducherry, promising high returns. In this case, two individuals, Nitish Jain (36) and Aravind Kumar (40), were arrested.
The accused, who collected large sums of money from the victims, attracted people by promising high returns on investments. However, it was later revealed that the entire scheme was a scam, and they prevented the victims from withdrawing their amounts. During the investigation, it was decided to question actresses Tamannaah and Kajal Aggarwal. Puducherry Cyber Crime SP Dr. Baskaran stated that within three months of the company's launch, the accused collected over Rs. 1.10 crore from 100 people.
