Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav presented the 2025-26 Andhra Pradesh state budget in the Legislative Assembly, highlighting a ₹3.22 lakh crore allocation, with significant funds for agriculture and projected fiscal deficits. Keshav criticized the previous YSRCP government for financial mismanagement and emphasized the challenges faced by the coalition government, led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, in navigating the state's economic recovery.

Amaravati: In the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav presented the 2025-26 annual budget. The budget of ₹3.22 lakh crores was brought before the house. This is the first time that a full-fledged budget has been presented after the coalition government came into power. ₹48,000 crores have been allocated for agriculture in the budget. The revenue expenditure is estimated at ₹2,51,162 crores, capital expenditure is estimated at ₹40,635 crores, the revenue deficit is ₹33,185 crores, and the fiscal deficit is estimated at ₹79,926 crores.
In the Assembly, while presenting the annual budget, Payyavula Keshav heavily criticized the previous YSRCP government. He stated that the financial situation of the state under the YSRCP government had become disastrous. He mentioned that the situation had worsened to such an extent that the state had no eligibility to take loans. He lashed out, stating that there was financial anarchy under the YSRCP rule. He remarked that the people had delivered a one-sided verdict in the elections, ensuring a grand victory for the coalition. He quoted Chanakya saying that the happiness of the common people is the happiness of the king and added that Chief Minister Chandrababu is governing in the same way as Chanakya had advised.
After the formation of the coalition government, many challenges were faced. Keshav said that the financial situation of the state had been explained to the people through white papers. He criticized the previous government for creating a terrifying atmosphere. He pointed out that arrests of opposition leaders were made, which led to an atmosphere of fear. Keshav stated that the previous government had led the state to a situation where even salaries could not be paid. He called the previous government careless and destructive. After the formation of their government, many challenges were faced, and Chief Minister Chandrababu effectively handled them and is now leading the state towards development, he added.
